PICC Certification: What Is It and How Do I Get It???

Traditionally, healthcare providers and clinicians become “qualified” to perform procedures on patients.  When an employer asks for a certificate of “PICC Certification” they are in essence requesting documentation of the successful completion of a formalized PICC education course, as well as the precepting of skills and verification of competency for the PICC insertion procedure on an actual patient.

Infusion Knowledge, Inc. offers an Online PICC Education Program that gives a total of 14.5 hours of formalized PICC Education.

Step 2: Obtain Hands-On Experience

Once you have completed a formalized PICC Education Program, the next step towards “PICC Certification” would be to gain hands-on practice. Many of our students obtain hands-on PICC insertion experience on-the-job at their place of employment, which is acceptable when documented accordingly.
