Healthcare Education Solutions
In today's economy, we realize it is not always cost effective for a
healthcare organization to utilize employee time to create a program to
meet a specific clinical education need. For this reason, some of our programs
are available for organizational purchase and are packaged to promote
easy implementation and facilitation.
When you purchase a program from Infusion Knowledge, Inc. your facility will receive:
- Comprehensive Instructor Manual (with detailed content)
- Course Timing Outline
- PowerPoint Presentation
- Participant Handout
- Post Test and Answer Key
- List of Suggested Course Support Materials
- Competency Validation Checklists
The following programs are available for organization purchase:
Certificate of Peripheral Venipuncture Education:
This comprehensive program focuses on blood draws and catheter placements and is appropriate for healthcare providers working in ANY care setting. The program is structured so that it may be taught in as little as 4 hours or expanded to 8 hours, depending on your individual needs.
Content includes a review of vascular anatomy and physiology; infection control and aseptic technique; venipuncture devices and procedure; I.V. catheter insertion techniques; complications; and care and maintenance.
Competency validation checklists are also included so that you may offer your participants the opportunity for hands-on simulated practice.
I.V. Therapy Education:
This program was designed to provide the LPN with comprehensive knowledge of I.V. Therapy practice to satisfy some state practice rules. Many states currently have, or are in the process of enacting, specific education requirements for LPN's to practice I.V. Therapy. This course also may be utilized as a refresher for veteran RN's or a primer for new RN's.
Course content includes current standards of practice; a venous access device review; venipuncture techniques; I.V. medication administration and fluid management; a review of nutritional solutions; management of difficult I.V. insertions; legal aspects and vascular access protocols; and a 50 question post test.
Competency validation checklists are also included so that you may offer your participants the opportunity for hands-on simulated practice.
This program currently meets the I.V. Therapy requirements for LPN's for the following states:
- Florida (30 hours)
- Kentucky (20 hours)
- Tennessee (40 hours)
- Other states with a rule of 40 hours or less
Note: Some states have an I.V. Therapy requirement of 100 hours for LPN's. This program does not meet that requirement. Please check with your individual state board of nursing for specific requirements.
